Cooler, Wetter Weather in Forecast for North Texas

A cold front is making some progress thru the Central Plains this afternoon.? This front arrives tomorrow bringing cooler temperatures for the weekend and also some rain chances.

Showers and thunderstorms will be in the area during the day tomorrow with rain chances continuing Thursday Night, Friday, Saturday and even into Sunday.? Best rain chances will be Thursday night into Friday.

Here is a look at the location of the cold front as of 3pm Thursday.

Note how most of the rain is behind the front.? That is because the upper level disturbance is behind the front and moving very slowly southeast.

STORM THREAT

What this means for us is that most of the rain will fall after the front passes thru.? This will mean a cool rain with not much in the way of severe weather expected.? Although tomorrow, I can?t rule out a few isolated severe storms before the front gets here but nothing widespread.

COOLER TEMPERATURES

Temperatures behind the front will be quite a bit cooler than what we have seen the past few days.? Highs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will only top out in the low 80s!? Some areas may stay in the 70s the whole day depending on the extent of the cloud cover and rain coverage.

TOMORROW (THURSDAY):? Partly cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.? High of 88.? South winds becoming north in the late afternoon at 10-15 mph.

TOMORROW NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, scattered showers and storms.? Low of 68.? N 10-15 mph

FRIDAY:? Cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.? High of 81.? NE 10-15 mph

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy, more scattered showers and storms possible.? Morning low of 65.? Afternoon High of 80.? NE 5-15 mph

SUNDAY:? Partly cloudy, lingering showers possible mainly in the morning and to the east of Dallas.? Morning low of 66.? Afternoon high of 83.? E 5-10 mph

MONDAY:? Sunny and warmer.? Morning low of 68.? High of 88.? SE 5-10 mph
